History Class Mural Series

A visual journey through human history, told through symbols, discoveries, and connections that shape our shared world.

Commissioned by Carden Conejo School to design a three-part mural series for their Middle School History Classroom. Each mural represents one of the three grade levels (6th, 7th, and 8th) and brings their core history themes to life: Ancient Civilizations, Medieval & Early Modern Times, and U.S. History. Each piece carries a unique connecting motif that ties the storytelling together. For 6th grade, flowing rivers and bodies of water symbolize the cradle of civilization. For 7th grade, the path to enlightenment represents intellectual and spiritual growth. For 8th grade, parchment paper transforms into railroads, reflecting the evolution of communication and progress. Together, they form a visual timeline that makes the space feel both educational and inspiring.

This project was such a fun creative challenge. It took me right back to those days of sitting in history class, learning about these eras for the first time. Reconnecting with that sense of curiosity and wonder reminded me why I love telling stories through design and creating spaces that make people feel something.

As part of my process, I created moodboards developed from my own research to inform the look, tone, and storytelling of each mural.
